Our adoptive parents are very important to us. We strive to educate each and every prospective “parent” in raising and training their new pets. We get many emails, calls, and letters telling us how wonderful their pets are and much of a difference it is to buy a bird from someone who knows the business of raising birds.

My husband shocked me this morning asking if we would ever get "another" one!!!! "Two would be cool" he said and he is NOT the bird person in this house. Aracaris are fabulous, that is all I am going to say. Have a great Christmas and New Year!

Just wanted to let you know how much we love our little Green! We've now had her for a year and a half and she fits into our family (two kids, one crazy blue heeler dog, two cats, and a cockatiel) perfectly. She seems to really thrive on all of the activity here. She is awesome with our daughter who is 3 1/2 years old and our son who is 5 months. As a matter of fact, Java now shares my daughter's room. I am blessed with having a daughter who is very gentle with all of our animals and always asks before sharing food with Java. Thank you for doing such a great job of socializing her, she has been so much fun. I only wish we could get another!

After 10 years of wanting to add a toucan to our educational programs. In 2008 we saw an article in Bird Talk Magazine about Jason. After talking to him several times we knew we finally found the professional breeder with the knowledge we had been looking for. Our Green Aracari (Sophia) is not only a great companion but also a huge hit among the groups we educate, that normally only get to see parrots.

Living in Florida and not finding any local Green Aracari breeders, I turned to the internet in my search for a pet over 2 years ago. I am grateful to have found Jason. I got my first Green Aracari, Wasabi, from him in August of 2007. She was a healthy, happy, friendly little girl. Being new to having a bird as a pet and an uncommon one at that with specific dietary constraints, Jason held my hand through the process, answering tons of questions on her care. Last year (2008) I adopted two more Green Aracaris as potential breeders from Jason and again he has helped me with a whole new set of questions on how to breed aracaris. I have been very happy with my decision to go with Jason as a breeder, he is extremely knowledgeable and trustworthy and cares for his birds and the betterment of the species more than anyone I know. He is a good friend to me, my birds and the avian community. Thank you Jason!

Thought you might get a kick out of this...Mollie (and her brother Victor) at play. Well, what else are you supposed to do with a Mac and Cheese box? :)

She had her first check up with Dr. Amy Worrell and passed with flying
colors! In fact, Dr. Amy proclaimed her to be "absolutely perfect."

Guru is doing just awesome!! I love him so much!! He is such a hoot. Yesterday I was preparing the organic mix for all of the Toucans/Aracari's, and this little stinker got out through the side door where the dishes hang, since I did not close it. He went looking for me, hopping around on the floor, playing with my sandals and toes!! He just coos like a little baby he is just that funny!! He is a great addition to the family, even though my husband won't admit it!! He eats very well, including his pellets now. I can definitely tell the difference in your babies versus the other two I have!! Keep up the good work!!

Bumble is doing great...she is a little spoiled girl and her personality is the same. She eats sooo much...loves her food. So that hasn't changed at all since she left your house. She is always so vocal and purrs like crazy when I am near the cage. Please fell free to send anybody my way who would like to hear about my great experience.

I just wanted to publicly thank Jason for a great little bird. As soon as we got home Kiki was very comfortable and acted like he lived with us forever. He gets along well with all of us including our Golden Retriever. He is very friendly, sweet, outgoing and not afraid of anything. I've never had a bird that was so great from day one! He is eating well and getting around his cage like a pro. He loves to sit on our heads and hang out with us. I can tell he is going to be a really fun bird and a big part of our family. Thank you, Jason!

"I had never dealt with an 'internet breeder' before so I was somewhat skeptical when I found out that this one had mousebirds. This is a bird that I had been wanting for several years, and, short of driving to California (a hike from south Florida, I will admit), I was very happy to find Jason in Chicago. Seems that I had even timed things right and within a couple of weeks he informed me that the babies were doing well and would soon be ready to ship.

He was very good about answering my emails and offered me references. He kept me informed and soon we agreed on a shipping day. He insisted that Continental Airlines was the best and it turned out to be top notch. The bird was securely packed in a small cage within a carrier, and I was able to speak to "human beings" at Continental who knew exactly where the bird was during the entire journey from Chicago to Houston to Miami!

"Mousie" arrived in Miami on a Sunday evening and was quite perky and healthy. I can't begin to describe the interest and enjoyment I have had with this little bird. I would highly recommend this breeder to anyone, and someday hope to buy another one of his birds!"

…The vet that I took Nuts to in West Dundee, IL on Monday gave him a full clean bill of health. She checked his lungs, heart, sinuses, bottom, keel, weight, eyes, nose etc. The vet was very impressed with your folder and said 'you went to a very good place to get him - this is a good breeder Charlotte & family (above photo is their daughter Sophie and their Cockatiel “NUTS”)

"I adore my parrotlet, Munchkin. She is the sweetest most loving little bird I have owned. She loves to fall asleep in my hand, her head resting on my thumb. She also gets along with my African Grey. Although he wants her toys and she wants his! We are one happy bird family!

Thanks for all your helpful bird knowledge in making my decision to adopt her!" Mary (above photo is their parrotlet “MUNCHKIN”)

Zippy, a Lineolated Parakeet purchased from Beak's Birdhouse, was brought to our clinic by owner Steve Wetterling. Zippy was examined on 4/2/04 and appeared to be in very good physical condition. Furthermore, Zippy appeared to have a very nice temperament.

Sincerely,

"Georgie checked out A-Ok yesterday at the Vet. It was interesting because the technician was trying to convince me that Georgie was a parrotlet. I overheard her telling the doctor that he was a beautiful bird but that I thought it was a parakeet.  I was pleased that the doctor could tell the difference! The appointment lasted almost 2 hours because he had never seen a lineolated parakeet before. I also wanted to pass on compliments to you from the Vet. He was very impressed by all the information that you provided me before taking him home and he said that Georgie was very well cared for and healthy- 49 grams!  He did want me to remove the band and try a microchip, but I declined - thanks for the advice!

Georgie is really starting to get comfortable with his cage and is chattering more and more. Today he was eating his Bean Cuisine for the first time. He didn't really try it before. He really likes climbing on the bars of the cage - is this normal or does it mean I need more ways to travel in the cage from spot to spot?"

Thanks, Brenda

"Sprite has turned out to be such a great part of our family.   I can't imagine our home without him and his antics!  We're really happy with him.  Thanks for a great baby!" Denise Schiele, Downers Grove, IL   2goalies@comcast.net

"The birds I have received from you are just beautiful.  They are calm birds with wonderful temperaments and their feather quality is perfect!  I have many birds but yours came to me with the health and quality I wish I could have gotten from other breeders in the past.  I can't thank you enough for a job well done!" "We are so happy with our little parrotlet who goes everywhere with me.  I am so thankful for her and the care that your provide for your birds." Dr. Karen Becker, avian vet Natural Pet Animal Hospital, Bourbonnais, IL   708.342.1111

"Our Cockatiel is doing wonderful!!! As I am e-mailing you she is with me, going from my shoulder to the keyboard......she loves the keyboard! Delilah is lovable & always wants to be with us!! If she is just free in my room, to sit outside her cage........She always ends up on my shoulder! So she is my loyal companion as I fix beds & straighten up in the morning! She loves "me" best, but Bill is a very close second!! She has left my shoulder many times to go w/ him! She will even leave me as I sitting on the couch, if she sees him in the kitchen or at the computer.....landing perfectly on his shoulder!  Yet she usually returns to me, & then starts the whole thing over!! She does like the kids, but her favorites our Bill & I!!

We all Adore her!!! Bill, who basically agreed to buy her because of me, just loves her! He has said.....”I never saw a bird so lovable & gentle as her!!" I would have to strongly agree!! You did a Wonderful job Jason!!" Maria Baldassarre (and their Cockatiel “DELILAH”)

Bird Site Review - Beaks Bird House

"Normally I don't recommend a breeder's website here - but in this case I've made an exception, as this site is operated by one of the too-rare breeders who cares for his birds and educates his customers the way they should be.

This family keeps and breeds some relatively rare species with incredible pet potential, yet so often overlooked, including the rare and wonderful Goldie's Lorikeets - more fun than a whole barrel of monkeys! - and the delicate, charming toucanets. If there were more breeders like this out there, we would not hear of so many 'problem parrots' being sold and resold, or so many overflowing bird refuge operations!

A website like this is a great place to start if you wish to learn how to approach ethically and caringly keeping and breeding any species of bird - and it is especially good for new breeders who care enough about their charges to wish to learn how to approach finding qualified, caring families for their birdie-babies - just follow the example set here."
